He was in Russian captivity for 12 years (1943 - 1955)

Research on Hubert Menzel - any one?
I am writing a book based on my Aunt's journey through Europe from August 3 to October 3 of 1938. She had some exciting adventures because of the Austrian Annexation and more! On a train from Munich to Vienna, she sat in a car and talked for hours with a Hubert Menzel, who said he was a headmaster in a Military School in Berlin. They had dinner together, in Vienna. He wrote her a letter (which I have) after she returned to the USA, indicating that he was in high level meetings before the takeover of the Sudentenland, and that he was among the first soldiers to enter Czechslovakia, and described how the crowds cheered, etc.
I suspect that the 1938 Hubert may be the same Hubert who was involved in the Battle for Stalingrad. The photo that my Aunt took of him...and the clip of Hubert from the BBC documentary, though they are over 50 years apart, everyone show them to, says that this looks like the same person. Here is a link to my little web page with the 1938 photo of that Hubert, next to the video, which you can play. What do you think? http://www.shoppingthevillage.com/hubertmenzelcomparison.htm
